This text we've read today in class showed us some of the advances of the Islamic world compared to the Western in the Middle Ages. Today we've just started the Unit 1, the Middle Ages. This video shows a brief summary of the things coming in this, and next units. Enjoy it! With this activity you can explore the daily life in the Middle Ages. http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/ks3/history/middle_ages/everyday_life_middle_ages/activity/ Completing this diagram you'll have an overview about Unit 1 and 2. (Forget about the Romanesque Art part, we haven't seen it yet)
Windsor Castle is a royal residence at Windsor in the English county of Berkshire. The original castle was built in the 11th century after the Norman invasion by William the Conqueror. Since the time of Henry I, it has been used by succeeding monarchs and it is the longest-occupied palace in Europe. Here you can see a couple of 3d tours around the rooms in the castle, so you can admire the architecture. Of course, it's not the same furniture as in the Middle Ages, but it can give us an idea of the luxury, and the enormous differences between a king's or noble life, and a peasant's. http://www.royal.gov.uk/virtualtours/Flash%20Panoramas/low_flash_004.html Hello 2º ESO! Here you have the presentation of Unit 1. You can use it to study, or go through the lesson again. |
